From his rise as a behind-the-scenes creative to stepping into the spotlight, Alessio Filippelli shares the thrilling journey of his first film, upcoming projects, and why he’s the new name to watch in global stardom.
Marie Claire Philippines (MCP): Alessio, there’s a lot of buzz around your name lately. Can you share what’s next for you?
Alessio Filippelli (AF): Well, I’m thrilled to finally share that I’ll be starring in my first-ever film. This is a project that means a lot to me.
MCP: That’s incredible news! Can you tell us more about how this opportunity came about?
AF: It all started when Simone Marino, the Italian filmmaker behind House Party, Crush, and Red Rail—which was even presented at the Venice Film Festival—approached me. He’s worked with incredible directors like Paolo Sorrentino and Luca Guadagnino, so I was immediately intrigued by his vision.
When we met, Simone pitched the idea of a film that reshapes how we see sexuality and erotism. He wanted to move away from the idea that sexuality is all about nudity and instead explore intimacy through subtler, more meaningful gestures—like putting on clothes instead of taking them off. It’s about care, connection, and redefining what we find sexy.
MCP: That sounds so unique. What made you say yes to such a bold project?
AF: Simone’s concept immediately grabbed me. I’ve always been comfortable discussing sexuality, and I feel strongly about challenging outdated norms. In today’s world, where explicit content is so accessible from a young age, I think we need to reframe the conversation around sex and intimacy.
This film isn’t just provocative—it’s thoughtful. I was drawn to the idea of exploring how eroticism can be rooted in emotional depth rather than physical exposure.
Marie Claire Philippines (MCP): Does this mean you’re moving away from your role behind the scenes and stepping fully into the spotlight?
Alessio Filippelli (AF): Not at all. I will absolutely keep doing both. I feel like I want to reshape what people think about someone like me and what we can do. I’m a bit of a hybrid—I love using my mind and creativity for the work I do behind the scenes for my clients, but I’ve also been offered this incredible platform as a performer.
I want to take advantage of that platform to step into roles and projects that can have an impact on people’s lives. Whether it’s behind the camera or in front of it, my goal is always to tell meaningful stories and spark change.
MCP: Since this is your first acting role, what’s it been like preparing for this new chapter?
AF: It’s been intense but rewarding. I’ve been working hard to prepare, diving into acting training and really immersing myself in the craft. While I’ve spent years working behind the scenes, stepping in front of the camera is a whole new challenge.
MCP: Can you give us a hint about the film’s story or your character?
AF: I can’t reveal too much yet—Simone has asked me to keep most details under wraps for now. But I can tell you it’s a story that will make people think and feel deeply. It’s provocative, yes, but also tender and deeply human.
MCP: Speaking of projects, you’re also working on something behind the camera, right?
AF: Yes! Later this year, I’ll be making my production debut alongside my partner Leah Pipes. We’re developing a film that we’re both really passionate about. Producing has always been a big part of my creative identity, and I’m excited to balance both acting and production moving forward.
MCP: And let’s not forget your influence in fashion. Paris Fashion Week is just around the corner—will we see you there?
AF: Absolutely! Fashion has always been a huge part of who I am. I love pushing boundaries and expressing myself through bold, innovative looks. You can definitely expect some fashion drama from me at Paris Fashion Week.
MCP: Alessio, from behind the scenes to center stage, your journey is truly inspiring. What message do you hope to share with this next phase of your career?
AF: I want people to see that it’s never too late to reinvent yourself and pursue new dreams. Whether it’s acting, producing, or fashion, I hope my work inspires others to embrace creativity and challenge the way we see the world.
Stay tuned for Alessio Filippelli’s film debut and follow him as he takes the fashion world by storm at Paris Fashion Week. A star is born indeed.
