Exclusive Interview with Award-Winning Actress Blanca Blanco

Blanca Blanco: Thank you so much! Ring of Hope is such a special film. It’s an action-mystery thriller about two adventurers who harness the power of a magical ring to journey through time. I play a Mexican artist, which is close to my heart because it celebrates culture and creativity. The story is layered with intrigue and humanity, and working alongside Vincent de Paul and John O’Hurley was an absolute honor. The production team, led by Christian Filippella, and the writers, Bianca and Chiara D’Ambrosio, brought so much passion to the project.

Interviewer: Your career spans a wide range of roles. What’s the secret to your versatility as an actress?

Blanca: I think it starts with curiosity and empathy. Each role I take on requires me to step into someone else’s shoes and explore their world. My background in psychology and social work has been incredibly valuable—it’s taught me to observe and understand people deeply. Training with mentors like Gordon Hunt and enrolling in programs like UCLA’s acting classes honed my craft, but staying open to learning has been key.

Interviewer: Beyond acting, you’re known for your impeccable style. How would you describe your fashion philosophy?

Blanca: Fashion, for me, is an extension of my personality. It’s a mix of classic elegance and contemporary edge—think Audrey Hepburn meets modern-day minimalism. I love versatile pieces that tell a story, whether it’s a tailored leather jacket, a vintage dress, or bold accessories. At the same time, sustainability is at the core of my choices. I often gravitate towards eco-friendly brands or vintage finds that carry a sense of history.

Interviewer: Sustainability is a recurring theme in your work and life. How do you integrate it into your fashion choices?

Blanca: It’s about being mindful and intentional. I believe in investing in timeless pieces rather than fast fashion. Vintage shopping is a favorite of mine—it’s sustainable and adds character to my wardrobe. I also support brands that prioritize ethical practices, like using eco-friendly materials or giving back to communities. Small steps, like donating clothes or repurposing items, can make a big difference.

Interviewer: Speaking of timeless pieces, what are your wardrobe essentials?

Blanca: A crisp white tee, high-waisted dark denim jeans, a classic leather jacket, and a versatile pair of sneakers. These are staples that can be dressed up or down. For special occasions, I love vibrant, high-slit dresses and dramatic silhouettes like puffy sleeves—they’re so empowering. And, of course, I never leave the house without a statement accessory, like my diamond-studded Rolex.

Interviewer: You’ve graced some of the world’s most prestigious red carpets. How do you prepare for such events?

Blanca: It’s always a mix of excitement and preparation. I collaborate with incredible designers like Versace, Gucci, and Christophe Guillarme, who understand my style. I pay close attention to details, from the fit of the dress to the accessories and even my makeup. But ultimately, confidence is my secret weapon—it’s what makes any look shine.

Interviewer: You’ve also made waves as an author with your bestselling book, Breaking the Mold. Can you tell us about that experience?

Blanca: Writing Breaking the Mold was a deeply personal journey. It’s a memoir about overcoming challenges and pursuing my dreams, no matter the obstacles. Sharing my story with readers worldwide and connecting with them on an emotional level was incredibly rewarding. Winning the Literature Award in 2021 was the cherry on top—it reinforced that authenticity resonates with people.

Interviewer: Fashion and inclusivity often intersect in your career. How do you see the industry evolving?

Blanca: The fashion industry has come a long way in embracing diversity, but there’s still room for growth. I’m thrilled to see more representation on runways, from different body types to cultures. The rise of augmented reality and virtual fashion is also exciting—it makes fashion more accessible and personalized. Ultimately, I believe fashion should celebrate individuality and empower everyone to express themselves.

Interviewer: Looking ahead, what excites you most about the future of your career?

Blanca: I’m excited to continue exploring complex characters and telling stories that resonate. Ring of Hope is just the beginning of what I hope will be a year of impactful projects. On the fashion front, I’m collaborating with designers on sustainable collections and diving deeper into advocacy work. And, of course, there’s always the possibility of another book—I have so many stories left to share!

Blanca: Believe in yourself and your journey. The road to success is rarely linear, but every twist and turn shapes who you are. Surround yourself with supportive people, stay curious, and never stop learning. And remember, setbacks are just stepping stones to something greater.
