With a 20-year career, Layla Pacheco is a global fashion force. Brazilian by origin and international by trajectory, she has walked the most prestigious runways and starred in campaigns and editorials across New York, Paris, Milan, London, Germany, and Turkey. Her presence is magnetic, her path inspiring, and her elegance unforgettable. In this exclusive conversation, Layla opens up about the milestones that shaped her, the designers who trusted her, and her vision of fashion beyond the spotlight.
Marie Claire: Layla, looking back at your journey so far, what moves you the most?
Layla Pacheco: What moves me the most is knowing that everything began with a dream – a simple one – born in Brazil when I was just a teenager. At 14, I never imagined I would walk for names like Giorgio Armani, Elie Saab, Balmain, Isabel Marant, and Zimmermann, in cities I once only saw in magazines. Every show, every shoot, was earned with persistence, discipline, and a lot of faith. It’s been a journey built on truth and resilience.
Marie Claire: Which international career moments do you consider unforgettable?
Layla Pacheco: Some moments are forever engraved in my heart. Walking for Armani in Milan was surreal – the elegance, the energy, the audience… it felt like a dream. In Paris, I was part of a collection that celebrated femininity in such a raw and artistic way – it moved me deeply. In New York, the diversity and creative freedom pushed me to evolve as a model. London gave me the freedom to be bold, and in Germany, I embraced a minimalist style that taught me the power of less. And Turkey brought me rich cultural collaborations that expanded my artistic side.
Marie Claire: Speaking of campaigns and editorials, which ones have been the most meaningful to you.
Layla Pacheco: Being featured on the covers of Elle and Elle Office was unforgettable. I’ve had the honor of shooting for high-end beauty, fashion, and wellness brands across Europe and South America. I worked with visionary photographers in London, Istanbul, Paris, Sรฃo Paulo, and New York. Each editorial was a performance – a chance to embody a story through movement and emotion. It’s a craft I deeply respect.
Marie Claire: Your runway presence is undeniable, but you also carry a powerful personal energy.
Layla Pacheco: My background is my foundation. I come from a family that taught me to value character, integrity, and faith. Today, I’m not only a model – I’m also a wife and a mother of three. That balance gives me strength. Every job I take reflects who I am and what I believe. I bring my whole self into every project – not just a body, but a soul with a story.
Marie Claire: What do you see when you think about your future in fashion?
Layla Pacheco: I see continuity and transformation. Fashion is not only about clothing – it’s about expression, identity, and storytelling. I want to keep growing, exploring new aesthetics, and working with brands that
understand the depth behind beauty. I’ve lived many seasons, and each one has taught me more about who I am. I’m excited for what’s next – and I’m ready for it.
Marie Claire: Finally, what message would you give to women who look up to your journey?
Layla Pacheco: You don’t have to fit into anyone’s mold. You are enough as you are. Trust your voice, be kind to yourself, and remember that strength isn’t about perfection – it’s about authenticity. Build your story with love and courage. And never forget: when your light comes from within, it will shine everywhere
